What Baltimore takes for free, and what it charges for
Bulk trash: three items, one Saturday a month
Each city household gets a monthly bulk Saturday for up to 3 items. Book it through 311 no less than four working days ahead, then label the pieces “bulk collection” and have them out by 7 am. Crews leave building materials behind: sheetrock, siding, wood pieces and roofing all get refused.
Residential drop-off centers
With city ID, residents can drop household trash, furniture, appliances, scrap metal, tires off the rim and electronics for free. The vehicle has to be a car, an unmodified van or minivan, or an unmodified pickup up to 3/4 ton. The cap is 2 loads a day and 5 a week.

Construction debris goes to one place
For residents, construction and demolition debris is accepted only at the Quarantine Road Landfill, at $135 per ton since November 1, 2025. Loads have to be separated by material, with no asbestos and no lead-based materials. Since 68% of city homes predate 1960, test old plaster, floor tile and paint before you tear anything out.
