Baltimore street permit for a dumpster
Right-of-Way Services, part of Baltimore City DOT, sets a weekly charge for any container parked in the public way. On a rowhouse block that is most containers.
| What is occupied | Per week |
|---|---|
| Dumpster in the right-of-way | $65.00 |
| Curb lane closure | $65.00 |
| Alley closure | $65.00 |
| Sidewalk closure | $55.00 |
| Full street closure | $85.00 |
Reading the table
The charge runs by the week, so a container that stays eight days pays for two. If the box blocks the sidewalk instead of the curb lane, that line is $55.00; closing the whole street, which few home jobs need, is $85.00 a week.
Fees can change when the city updates its schedule. Ask the roll-off company whether its quote includes the permit or leaves it to you, and check the city page below before you book.
